Another time spent on Great Barrier Island has come to an end. I am now dreaming of the quietness, the clear night skies and the soft sunlight that falls across the house's wooden floors in the late afternoon.

fragments of the new apartment

My parents have moved to a new place which overlooks Wellington's harbour and it's lovely! The colours of the apartment building and interior are very art deco, there's even an old school elevator which is shaped like a little room with a door. 

Above are some close-ups of the little details that Sandy plays with to make our home look incredible (if I say so myself haha).

Zane once again proved himself as a talent in the world of handmade-homemade food. This time it was Kinfolk who inspired this culinary journey - it was so easy too! Click here to do it yourself (you only need 30 minutes). To appreciate the pasta authenticity we ate it with a drizzling of olive oil and herbs.

Yesterday Zane and I went for a day and a night away at his family home out in the country. We picked and ate fejoas and olives and it felt wonderful. My parents visited us in the morning as Dad had conducted a wedding in a nearby town. Homemade is way too fun, I am shocked to hear it is good for you. (Just kidding!)

Something I'd really love to try someday. A cool little cafe Nadu in Newmarket, Auckland had these ones hanging along their window. I can picture herbs hanging in the kitchen, or jasmine and lavender in the bedroom (supposedly it helps you sleep well).

Wow, this blog is totally turning into a stylish living blog. I love it! I guess it's because both Aps and I are furnishing our own places and working on curating spaces that we love to live in. I love this house so so so much. The industrial sort of hanging light look is something I absolutely adore at the moment.
(Just on a side note - a few weeks ago me, being super keen and slightly ignorant/oblivious, I bought a light cord set from Ikea in the US. I then found out from a friendly electrician that it won't work here, unless I invest in a [really ugly] transformer, because the power supply in NZ is a larger 240V, obviously. Oh Ikea, why).
