My entire family loves Lady Olenna (and her excellent one liners) who is a new character in season 3 of Game of Thrones. In an episode we recently watched Lady Olenna was asked if she liked an embroidery of the Tyrell rose, she replied, “I eat from plates stamped with roses, I sleep in sheets embroidered with roses, I have a golden rose painted on my chamber pot — as if that makes it smell any better. Roses are boring, dear." In many ways this is how I feel about flowers and photography, BUT when I saw the way the sunlight was hitting these cobweb-riddled and dying hydrangeas I couldn't help but take a few photos. The way the winter sun touches objects out here is breathtaking - I stare and stare and stare all day long.
