Hydrangeas are my favourite! And making cakes too! Hydrangeas + cake = AHHH. Gorgeous tutorial here for a hydrangea cake by i am baker. One day I will attempt this. Probably not anytime soon, but one day...

one dog stands precariously on many different things

The above photos are part of this charming photo series found on the blog called maddieonthings. The one line describing the blog says it's a "super serious project about dogs and physics". The photos are all by Theron Humphrey and I can't help but love them. Also on this blog is a link to another website that Theron runs called This Wild Idea. This project involves one man meeting a new person each day all over the place. Simple and very, very sweet. Look into it!

the beginnings of street style blogging

Aps recently blogged about one of her favourite street style blogs, Helsinki (from Finland). As a weird coincidence I came across an early 80s magazine collection at my grandparent's home. One of the articles I cut out was about Sweden street style! Now of course there would have been no street blogs back then (30 years ago!) but it had the same fundamental ideas-fashion of the people. Above are a few parts of the article I photographed (no scanner) in all my excitment! I especially love the layering of the second to last woman and the young girl with her partner (?) looks like someone that I'd like to know!

I love Hel Looks, its the first street style blog I ever came across and my long time favourite even next to The Sartorialist and NZ's local Street and City Photos. Its based in Helsinski, and is the sole reason I often wish I could run away/elope to/live in Finland.

Happy much love monday (It's been a while since I last did one!)

 Wallace Chapman is one of those multi-talented Kiwis, in front of the camera he's the host of the programme Back Benches, but he's also the behind the camera with his blog Street and City Photos. I visit his blog a bit, and I'm pretty sure Lou does too. The shots from the streets of Wellington and Auckland are different from average street style blogs as they're not just of 'fashions' on the street, but are of street 'style'. It's real and honest to the city life that is New Zealand's. Or maybe I'm just biased towards Wellington and the streets of the wonderful city (which I probably rave too much about to the south-islanders down here). I get super excited when I recognize the location of the photos.
