what's sandy wearing?

Woops! It's not only what Sandy is wearing today but also what I am wearing (hehe I snuck in  a few photos). Today Sandy's pink dress is from Dries Van Noten. And my outfit? Really old Keep shoes, vintage blouse and Oscar shorts plus a $1.00 hat from Savemart! Nice!

Happy days

what's sandy wearing

I don't care about the rest of the look, I just NEED THAT JUMPER. This gorgeous purchase was made in Scotties and the label is Lamberto Losani. It's Italian, it's cashmere, it's perfect.

what is sandy wearing: zambesi girl

Monday: Sandy wears a Zambesi dress, Victorian Jet Memorial locket, Lanvin shoes and Jamin Puech bangles. Greyish blues and browns make this look great for work and cafe lunch dates. Plus an elegant vintage necklace works best with less detailed clothes. I once read on the Satorialist that hair and accessories were the most important part of an outfit and today Sandy is totally working this mantra.

what is sandy wearing: nom, nom, nom*d

The other day mummy a.k.a. Sandy, took up half a page in the paper talking about fashion. Her love for style and her success in being in-the-know is undeniable. This morning I was mulling over this thoughts and it came to me, why not have a string of what Sandy is wearing posts (especially while I am back home in the Uni holidays)? So, here we go.

Sunday: Sandy is wearing a Martin Margiela blouse (with its token ambiguous white stitched label) and a Nom*d skirt which is made up of vintage scarves (idea alert for any creative things out there!). Her little feet are wrapped by Lanvin sandals (I wish I had a pair...). To complete this fashion assemblage Sandy wears simple and always beautiful pearls given to her by a close friend.

The overall look is Summery elegance; it is a bouquet of flowers to brighten this city's addiction with the non-colour black.

much love monday: socks!

This photo (courtesy of Zane P.) is of me wearing socks and looking ferocious. The Arthur Barnett's bag only adds to the appeal. HA. So this weeks Much Love Monday object is SOCKS! How cute are these little items of clothing that everyone mocks when received as a Christmas present? I am especially loving the brand 'Happy Socks' which make me feel playful when I am wearing them. I demand everyone ask me what type of socks I have on and yell 'HAPPY SOCKS' then I proceed to run at the question asker like a bull of glee. HA. Check out their website here. It's SO EXCITING.

Keep on lovin'

The last of winter looks

By Dries Van Noten

Quite elegant, maybe too elegant but perhaps these outfits are what I'll  be wearing when I'm an elegant woman.

Lookbook Mk II

Herro, we're back and not dressed entirely in black (Anna Wintour would be smiling...or there'd be a twitch at the corner of her mouth.) Nombre deux of our Lookbooking days has been and gone but not without ultimate success and a topped up admiration for clothing. This time we played the troll(s) under the bridge, the lovesick (fruit obsessed) youth looking forlorn and confused by the boat sheds and the not so saintly ones outside the monastery on the hill.

The dominating clothing of choice was our special little vintage pieces and Cheap Mondays. The loverly day ended with us trooping up another hill in our oh-so-hilly city and making pasta with sauce while going loco on a guitar missing a string and an organ missing some keys. Outside the houses were covered in low resting fog. These days are brilliant.

Dear ghost audience

Back in the earlier days of this year our friendship group became semi-infatuated by the idea that the site lookbook is based around; the idea of capturing ourselves dwelling in our complete fassshun glorrry. We came to a conclusion that our passion for clothes could only really shine truly, like a pair of new balenciaga shoes, if we held a complete day of photographing eachother. Our day consisted of travelling through our great and notably miniature city with our adolescent hands gripping at our cameras, outrageous props and beautiful clothes. Our clothes' designers were some of our favourites too, such as my idol Vivienne Westwood, Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester and of course a whole heap of vintage plus a vest my friend bought from a blind women at a Chinese market. We hunted like wild things in search for abandoned parking lots, culture and fabulousness. Results were marked in red as a killer success.
