I Get Woody for Allen

Ha! How inappropriate of me.

I just want to quickly blog about Woody Allen who's films are wonderfully hilarious and interesting and stylish. I am using his film, 'Sleeper' for my scholarship media exam and although I've seen it a few times now I want to re-blog some of the brilliant screen shots from this sci-fi (kinda dystopian parody) film. Although when deeply analysing his films I sometimes think Allen comes across as quite sexist and totally egocentric but maybe that's WHATEVER that's just comedy or irony or the world for you. Anyway, SO many films will reference his work or him directly and his one liners are often delicious...OH THE RAMBLING, MAKE IT STOP.

This film made Charles Deaton's architecture famous (and if this is a lie/totally unsupported statement then it made it known to me so there). I personally like it...kind of. At least it's something not hideously over modernist-starlinist (if that even exist..yeah it does...It looks like my school.)

eeeee i forgot how it felt to be jetlagged and hyper.

This is an ANGRY post.

Here's a list of things that are getting me down, making me feel like I am choking on torn up paper

-social networking sites
-people sucking up to each other on these social networking sites
-people who do the above and never actually talk to the person in real life
-loud irrelevant and constant sounds
-my brother when he has just woken up
-rooms that are so hot they give you headaches
-people who forget you
-people who think you are worth forgetting
-believing that you are worth forgetting
-inhumanity
-people who just don't care

Luckily the thing I lost was returned, the cafe called 'Offbeat' was holding it for me. Luckily you can turn things off. Luckily when someone disappoints you, all you need to do is think of them picking their nose and you feel better. Luckily there are organisations like the Red Cross. Luckily I have parents that always tell me I am cool, even when I sneeze peppermint pieces from my nose (I did that yesterday actually).

And now for something completely different:

Sometimes to feel better, you need a bit of irrelevancy.

this is me pulling an april

Aps tends to blog and run (hahaha not literally silly) so I'm gonna do that. Here's a nice song. Listen to it. (I nearly touched one of the band members. They were discreetly hanging about in the crowd at a Neil Young concert I went to and I ran at them, unfortunately they ran away.) Hehehe.

so for some reason 'all is fair in love and war'

popped into my head today, and then i realised i've read

it over so many times before without really realising that i don't know what it means.

by google the definitions i found were really quite confusing/contradicting?

all is fair in love and war:

• Something that you say which means behaviour that is unpleasant or not fair is acceptable during an argument or competition We weren't cheating, we were just playing to win. Anyway, all's fair in love and war.
• People in love and soldiers in wartime are not bound by the rules of fair play. This proverb is frequently used when two people are contending for the love of a third.
• This idiom is used to say that where there is conflict, people can be expected to behave in a more vicious way.

Hmm.

"merry ho ho ho" and things i'm looking forward to!

MERRY CHRISTMAS so as of the 26th we will be off on our merry way to china. things are a tad hectic (i haven't packed yet)! but the idea of airports and busyness of big cities and hotels is really exciting. and it will be winter in china, and winter is totally the best season for fashion - i mean what does fashion have to offer in summer? it's tshirts and shorts and cotton dresses, but in winter you get layers and layers, lovely knitted cardis, scarves, gloves, boots, oooh lovely! maybe i will change my mind when we reach beijing and its -8 degrees... i should get to packing my woolly tights and dresses and coats now! i love you winter.
